Welcome to the Skokie Firefighters Local #3033 Website. Since 1987 we have been recognized as the official bargaining unit for eighty seven (87) Firefighters/Paramedics and Eighteen (18) Lieutenants. We are affiliated members of the Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois (AFFI) as well as the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF). Our first collective bargaining agreement was ratified in February of 1988 and to this day we continue to negotiate the member’s wages, hours and conditions of employment.

Fire Fighters’ Tips for tornado safety

Fire Fighters’ Tips for Surviving a Tornado The safest place to be in the event of a tornado is an underground shelter – such as a basement – advises Skokie Local 3033 fire fighters. If you don’t have a basement, pick a small, windowless interior room or hallway on the lowest level.

Giving Back

We love serving the Skokie community and we seek to giveback.

On occasion you may see us on the street holding out a boot.  Currently we are filling the boot for the MDA to help fight muscular dystrophy.  Our last MDA boot drive Nov. 2018 we raised  $12,470 dollars. We thank you for your support.

Home fires increase exponentially during the winter months. As the voice of public safety in your community, now is the prime opportunity for your local to spread the message about winter safety – especially with the increased use of outdoor heating equipment due to COVID-19.

This public safety toolkit includes infographics and posts/tweets for social media and a customized op-ed to send to local media.

Help your community stay
safe and warm this winter.

Fire fighters are the face of public safety in their communities. Use IAFF Toolkits to become a hub of safety information and resources for your local and the communities our members protect.
